Jean's feature screenplay "The Rovers" was an Austin Film Festival Finalist! It was 1 of 4 scripts remaining in the Comedy Competition, out of almost 9,000 total entries across all categories.
Jean's feature screenplay "The Rovers" advanced to the Quarterfinal Round of the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. It's one of only 357 to emerge from the First Round from 6,915 total entries.
Jean's short film Queso Flameado was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Dallas International Film Festival in the Shorts Program.
Jean's pre-thesis film Mr. Lamb was the Winner of the Audience Choice Award at the Williamsburg Independent Film Festival.
Both of Jean's shorts, Mr. Lamb and Queso Flameado were Official Selections of film festivals all over the US and world, including Woodstock, Rooftop Films in Brooklyn, Dallas International, Melbourne Underground, and the Opera Prima in Spain.
Jean was the recipient of the prestigious Peter Gould and TSOA Graduate Scholarship, as well as the MFA Summer Internship Fund granted by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts of Sciences.
